"An extremely virtuosic player... she elegantly glided over technical runs without breaking a sweat, making the music scintillating and simultaneously refined. Constantly maintaining a beautiful tone, she produced such a well-rounded sound in the lower registers of the flute that it was a actually satisfying feeling which leaves one yearning for more."

"Indeed the full tones of the standard flute Wong plays again are striking for the full heft of its sonority. This isn’t simple sonance and harmony either, and it’s a tribute to Wong she can evoke the depth of this shortish piece."

"A later woodland chamber concert also feature Karen Wong playing the Allegro from Bach’s Flute Sonata in e. This elicited a delightful response from a young lady who had sat for some time entranced by music from Merula and Bach before getting up for a little dance. This is what music should be all about."
