Hong Kong-born flautist Karen, Wong Ka Wing is a versatile musician. Devoted in chamber and orchestral playing, she has recently worked with Rehearsal Orchestra, I Maestri Orchestra, Guildford Youth Symphony Orchestra and several Guildhall Orchestras. She had been on Asia concert tours with the 28th and 29th Asian Youth Orchestra. Having a duo - KM21 with pianist Mo Suet Ng, they have recently formed the EnsemBouquet, a flexible ensemble. She is also member of the Penserio Ensemble, featuring music for flute, string trio and harp. 


Being a frequent prize-winner in music competitions, Karen won 2nd Prize in the British Flute Society Young Artist Competition 2021, 3rd place in National Flute Association Piccolo Orchestral Audition Competition and was winner of the Flute Flight Online Competition 2020. She has given solo performances in London, Oxford, Eastry, Faversham, New York and Berlin.

Karen gained Masters in Orchestral Artistry (Distinction) at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. She is pursuing Artist Diploma at Guildhall, studying flute, piccolo and Baroque flute with Philippa Davies, Sarah Newbold, Ian Clarke, Christopher Green and Lisa Beznosiuk. She was awarded first-class honour for her Bachelor of Arts in Music at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, under the tutelage of Ivy Chuang.


In recognition of her academic and music achievements, she received Guildhall School Concert Recital Diploma for exceptional performance, Continuo Foundation Award for Students of Historical Performance and is the awardee of the Help Musicians Postgraduate Award 2021.

Apart from music, Karen is a coffee enthusiast. She holds City and Guilds: Certificate of International Award of Barista Skills and has achieved certification in Brewing Foundation & Intermediate by the Specialty Coffee Association.
