Hong Kong–born flautist Ka Wing Karen Wong is a versatile chamber and orchestral musician. She is currently Second Flute & Piccolo of the Macao Orchestra. In addition to being a Britten Pears Young Artist 2024/25 and a Rising Star of the Edinburgh International Festival 2025, she has worked with The Hallé, the London Symphony Orchestra, Sinfonia Smith Square (2023/24, formerly Southbank Sinfonia), Northern Ballet Sinfonia, Scottish Ballet Orchestra, Devon Baroque Orchestra, the Buxton International Festival Orchestra, the Jersey Chamber Orchestra, the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, and Hong Kong Sinfonietta. She has toured with the Taipei Music Academy and Festival 2023 and the Asian Youth Orchestra. Karen is a founder of Ensemble Fioritura and is also a musician with Live Music Now.

Karen won 1st Prize in the British Flute Society Young Artist Competition 2022, 2nd Prize in the Tampere Flute Fest Piccolo Competition 2022, and 3rd Place in the National Flute Association Piccolo Orchestral Audition Competition 2021. Her recent concerto engagements include performances with Another Chamber Orchestra (UK), Klangkollektiv Wien (Austria), at the Anghiari Festival (Italy), the London Handel Festival, and the Bach for Good Festival (UK). Her solo and chamber career has taken her to Hong Kong, Taiwan, the UK, the US, Austria, Belgium, Italy, and Germany.

Karen graduated from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama with Distinction in both the Artist Diploma and the Orchestral Artistry Master’s, studying flute, piccolo, and traverso with Ian Clarke, Gareth Davies, Philippa Davies, Sarah Newbold, Christopher Green, and Lisa Beznosiuk. She was awarded First-Class Honours for her Bachelor of Arts in Music at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, under the tutelage of Ivy Chuang.
